“I don’t trust anyone more than I trust you.”
“Look at you,” he breathed, a small smile playing over his lips. “You’re gorgeous.”
“I wish I could touch you right now.” I watched his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed hard. “I wish I could feel her moving around in your belly. I wish I could rub your back and kiss you. I hate it that I’m missing everything.”
It had always been Kate. My hands shook as the truth seeped into my pores. It had been her since I was just a stupid kid.
“I thought, No one has ever been more beautiful than she is at this moment.” He lifted his other hand to trace his fingers down the side of my face.
“I’ve never seen a woman look more beautiful in my entire life.”
“I don’t want to sleep without you anymore.”
I didn’t care if it took the rest of my life to prove to her that I wasn’t going anywhere—as long as she would let me roll over in the middle of the night and see her looking exactly the way she did then.
“I am so in love with you,” he said, cutting off my rambling.
