So what should we do once we discover pride in our lives? How do we break free from its embrace? The answer is twofold. First, we have to admit that we can’t do it in our own strength. You’ll recall that wanting to be like God—complete with omnipotence and perfection—is what landed us in this mess in the first place. Rather, we have to submit ourselves to the One who humbled Himself to the point of death to rescue us from our self-righteousness and sin.
