In his healings, exorcisms, and nature miracles, Mark's Jesus acts as authorized agent of the divine power emanating from God's coming kingdom; in his conflict with human authorities—religious and political—he exposes the nature of that divine power, which operates in restorative, vulnerable solidarity with the weak.
