I mean, he was playing it LOUD and wasn’t fast-forwarding through shit. In the cassette era, that meant you were on to something.
It would give you uncomfortable insight into their whole life story. Pretty much every purchase for us was the result of some other guy having to give up his dream. It definitely added a tinge of the bittersweet to our otherwise good fortune.
