NSA has eliminated anonymity through massive surveillance. If you can watch everything, you’re better able to piece together disparate clues and figure out what’s going on and who’s who. You can probably even do that automatically. That’s what countries like China and Russia are trying to do with the wide-reaching surveillance of the Internet in their countries.
