If we read the Word and do not pray, we may become puffed up with knowledge, without the love that builds others up.

We have the same permission to go to God and ask the fire from heaven to come down and consume our lusts and passions – to burn up our impurities and let Christ shine through us.

If those who have been backsliders will return to God, they will see how quickly God will answer prayer.

“Let me pray,” says the Christian, “or else I die.”

“Since I began to beg God’s blessing on my studies, I have done more in one week than in the whole year before. Surely it is good to draw near to God at all times.”
