But as infuriating and irresponsible as such activities are, they are not illegal. Public servants have a right to express religious sentiments in public. The truth is, not a whole lot can be done about that. There is no constitutional sanction against Obama or Perry, as private citizens, doing God talk. Interestingly, the Freedom from Religion Foundation tried to prevent Obama from authorizing a national day of prayer.
