It is now well known that Obama deported more undocumented people (most of whom are of Latino descent) than any other president in US history.13 Despite the sustained uprisings and political mobilizing of activists in Ferguson and throughout the country, Obama never acknowledged or condemned systematic racism and unchecked police violence.
