The issues we are facing at the beginning of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as the impact of automation, the ethical implications of AI and the social ramifications of genetic engineering, have been a part of social consciousness since at least the 1960s, when nuclear, genetic and space technologies moved past their infancy and computers began to replace their human counterparts.
