isn’t TFT a lot like Adam Grant’s Matchers? There are two critical distinctions. TFT starts off with cooperation. Matchers don’t necessarily cooperate. Matchers tend to wait until others do something nice before they respond in kind. This passive attitude drastically reduces the number of interactions they have. Meanwhile, Givers run around handing out favors, losing a little to Takers, getting a fair share back from Matchers, and winning the lottery whenever they meet another Giver.
