Cat looks a little surprised. “You’re leaving? Where are you going?” I crack my knuckles like Alyvos does. “I have to go punch things.”

“No one’s as good a man as you, and that’s why I love you. That’s also why I’m terrified of fucking this up.”

“None of that is who you are. Who you are is this person here. The one with me now. The fierce little human who does what she must to survive and spits in the face of danger. I love her. I loved her since I met her.”
