You are cured once you see alcohol for what it is: a poison that does nothing whatsoever for anyone. After all, if it does something for so-called ‘normal drinkers’, shouldn’t it follow that it does a lot more for someone who drinks a lot more of it. If it really did bestow some sort of crutch or pleasure on ‘normal’ drinkers, then surely alcoholics would be the happiest, most confident and secure people on the planet! And by the same token, since it does in fact make alcoholics miserable and terrified, doesn’t it also follow that it must make ‘normal’ drinkers sad and fearful?
