The 1% Rule: 1% progress + daily application (consistency) + persistence (focus) + time (endurance) = success.
I decided to reverse engineer the vision I had created, bringing it down to the smallest common denominator. It’d have to be so tiny, it’d be impossible not to move the needle. The next day, I’d do the same thing—over and over and over again.
We only truly value that which is earned—and specifically, that which we earn through the process of becoming.
The big leaps will never happen if we don’t get used to taking the small ones.
Lack of fulfillment.
Lack of energy.
Rule #1: Create Ruthless Boundaries
Stop checking e-mail all day.
Start your day on “airplane mode.”
Instant gratification is an endurance killer.
We’re unwilling to delay gratification of our most basic human desires.
Focus on the next step—right here, right now.
“What can I execute on right now that will prove that my outcome and vision are not only possible, but coming true?”
Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.
If you don’t fill your day with high-priority items, others will fill your day with low-priority items.
Be hyper-specific.
Be intentional.
Lean in, and double down.
My focus of awareness was intensely set on this new vision, and anyone or anything designed to help get me there faster started to appear.
If you stay open to possibility, you may find an alternative vision that you currently can’t
imagine and will absolutely blow you away.
The intensity and focus of your vision with surrender to the potential possibilities.
The how is where dreams go to die.
“That’s not only possible, I can truly make this happen.”
What would have to happen in the next 90 days?
When identifying your big rocks, we must ensure the following: They’re proving your vision coming true.
They’re realistic, yet you get nervous with them.
They force you to execute on a high level.
They truly matter to you.
The four pillars will include your Business & Purpose, Health & Fitness, Spirituality, and Relationships.
Identify core outcome.
Identify core process.
Identify 1% process.
Remember: you don’t have to hit a home run every single day—you simply have to get in the game.
What can I execute on right now that will prove that my outcome and vision are not only possible, but coming true?
See their success as your own greatness being reflected back to you.
Your pain is your power and contains a gift.
Cut your micro-target completion times in half.
Set daily targets, and celebrate crushing them.
Declare your outcomes, and put yourself on the line.
The more you succeed and grow, the more urgency must be manufactured with higher and higher levels of accountability.
Accountability is inherently uncomfortable.
Pillar #1: Four-Tiered Investment
Physical.
Mental.
