If you don’t fill your day with high-priority items, others will fill your day with low-priority items.
“I have two kinds of problems: the urgent and the important. The urgent are not important, and the important are never urgent.”
“No one but you has the ability to find your own North Star and no one but you has the power to keep you from finding it. No one.”
Belief is cultivated, it is exercised. Much like a muscle, it can grow or contract every single day.
Reaffirming this vision every single day becomes your weapon and allows you to increase your belief and flex the muscle underneath.
The how is where dreams go to die.
The more time you spend analyzing, dissecting, or thinking about the how, the less likely it is that your goals, outcomes, and vision will come to fruition.
overplanning can lead to distraction,
See their success as your own greatness being reflected back to you.
Your pain is your power and contains a gift.
Boring is part of the process—embrace it.
“If Buffett’s ‘formula’ could be described in a word, that word would be ‘boring.’ Wonderfully, profitably, enjoyably boring.”
The right time is created by the power of a bold decision. The word decision means to cut off, to slice off what is no longer serving and move forward with clarity. The timing will never be right.
Create the right time in your life and you’ll never look back.
When the what and why are bold and vivid, the how starts to reveal itself.
if you lower your intensity and ambition to please a certain few, you’ll miss out on attracting the tribe that wants you to play all out.
“You will become way less concerned with what other people think of you when you realize how seldom they do.”
The truth is, your vision is a matter of life or death and should be respected and treated as such.
The amateur sits around waiting to be inspired while the pro creates inspiration.
Valley Fever. A regional disease, few people knew how severe it could be, and I spent weeks on my deathbed, trying to figure out what was happening. I was told I would never be the same again, and that this rare lung disease was an energy killer.
“Urgency is not the natural state of affairs. It has to be created and recreated.”
The more you succeed and grow, the more urgency must be manufactured with higher and higher levels of accountability.
“When the student is ready—the teacher appears.”
“It takes one message on one day to change one life.”
Don’t die with your song inside of you, unheard by the world. You deserve it, and they need to hear it. It’s a matter of life or death.
Reflection is as important as intentional action.
“To change is to become greater than your environment.”
When you’re bold, the world will respect you and open itself up to you. But you’ve got to choose it—right here, right now.
