“Because when I first got here, I met five people, too. And with every one of them, before I was through, I asked the same question, ’cause I couldn’t remember my last seconds on earth. ‘What happened? Did I save the little girl? Was my life a big waste?’”
But science only knows what it knows.
“You’re not getting it,” Eddie gently replied. “I needed to save you. It let me make up for the life I took. “That’s how salvation works. The wrongs we do open doors to do right.”
“Hey, kiddo?” She looked up. “There’s no such thing as a nobody. And there are no mistakes.”
