Defining Deception: Freeing the Church from the Mystical-Miracle Movement

Let the reader understand fully that anything said publicly in regards to my uncle’s life and ministry has already been pleaded privately. For years those closest within the family circle (including my late grandmother who was a believer) begged for the deception to cease. Our differences have not been petty debates over the continuance of certain gifts of the Spirit, but rather over fundamental differences regarding the gospel of Jesus Christ. For the past five years I have had personal conversations with family members who are partnered with Bill Johnson, Bethel Church, Todd White, and the NAR. Some of my own family members have attended their signs and wonders schools and regularly use the Passion Translation, fully convinced that it’s the truest revelation we have today. I have made the phone calls, sat in the living room with Bible open, and shouted from the rooftops that we have taught a false gospel and must repent and trust God’s grace in spite of our former sins. Much of this to no avail, but God is not done working and neither am I done praying for the Holy Spirit to open their eyes.
