At this point, I think if you’re being silent, you’re making a choice and taking a side.
It’s a reminder not to judge someone for not speaking out but to create the space so that when their time comes, they’re ready.
hate comes at you when you make any stand. It’s the price of trying to be heard. If that’s the case, and we accept it, then it’s a waste of emotion to react to the negativity. The hate, the rage that people throw at you only has power if you let it affect you.
But when I see teammates of mine, who can knock someone into next week between the lines, shedding a tear when they talk about the world outside the NFL bubble, it really changes your mind-set.
Yes, NFL players are humans with emotions. And toxic masculinity needs to go away. But this is not something that makes white people uncomfortable
They want us to be brands, not men.
