Sports, food, and fun have a purpose; God celebrates these things. But God’s intention was never that we would replace him with these good things. No wonder we struggle to find time to come together for a day of rest. The day of worship, when Christians gather in the name of Jesus, is stuffed to the brim with so many activities that we neglect to do the very thing that we are called to do on that day—worship God.
