God deeply cares for each of these critters. The critters are “good.” But even more than that, God opts to establish a personal relationship with the critters he has made. This relationship is illustrated by a number of biblical texts. For example, in the story of Noah’s ark, we find that two of every creature came into the ark just before the flood, as God had desired.
