Davidman’s book provokes an interesting question: If Martians came to Earth on our day of worship, what would they conclude we worship? Football? Youth sports? The great outdoors? Brunches with friends? Music festivals? Of course, none of this is to suggest that these are bad. By no means. Sports, the outdoors, a good brunch, music—all of these are good in the right context.
