Realizing that its support was dwindling, Samaras’s coalition government appealed to the EU and Berlin for concessions. If Greece could emulate Ireland and Portugal in making an early exit from its troika program, it would be a great win for Europe and might give the Eurogroup’s collaborators a chance at the polls.
