When I discuss differences between men and women—whether in relative risks of certain diseases or in how they’re treated by health care providers—I generally mean cis people simply because our knowledge of such differences has been derived largely from research on them. But it should be noted that the problems explored in this book don’t solely affect cis women. All women—cis or trans—are affected by the trust gap.
