What upsets me most, I think, is that the anti-communists were against communism, rather than for democracy. And the Anti–New Agers are against the New Age rather than for Christ. Isn’t this being against rather than for the frame of mind which produces terrorism? Isn’t it, in itself, a kind of terrorism? The terrorists who blew up a plane full of people felt holy in their action; a religion that not only condones but commands murder of “unbelievers” is a fearful thing.
