But this is one of the most serious omissions that can be made in the spiritual life and shows how unwise we are. Once we understand this, we see why “the prosperity of fools destroys them” (Prov. 1:32). We see why the gospel is for the up-and-in as well as the down-and-out, equally so and equally essential.
