Okay, so I felt like a bitch. But again, whose fault was that? Ugly words. Cruel words. Laughter at my expense. They hadn’t lost any sleep over it.
“I love you. I won’t let you give up. I’m your momma. I will never ever give up on you. You’ve got a big future, Nash Lee. A huge one. This is just a stumbling block. It’ll make you tough, stronger, and more determined.”
Tallulah had a great smile. It made bad things seem less important. Like she saw a rainbow around the corner. Her eyes didn’t twinkle with flirty intentions. She didn’t even know how to do that. It was refreshing. I had enjoyed that about her. I missed it. I was going to make sure I got that smile again. I was done losing shit. I’d lost enough already.
But here I was. Getting ready for a date with Nash Lee. When he had asked me, it had taken all my focus not to grab on to my car for support. My knees went weak, my stomach was so tied up in knots I thought I needed to bend at the waist, and I couldn’t remember how to use words.
hell looked like he was about to kiss her. Going in there and stopping it was my first reaction, but I paused. Because Tallulah wasn’t moving away. She wasn’t leaning closer, but she wasn’t moving back, either. Would she let him do this? Did she like this man? Had I been missing something all along?
NO NO NO NO. THIS NO. NASH GO THROAT PUNCH HIM RNNNNNN. BC NO. EW EW EW. Tallulah you dummy you are so naive.
