A day long ago when he’d been forced to confront the woman he robbed—seen the fear, passion, and despair in her eyes and etched in every line on her face. The depth of it had told him right then that it was not worth it. More succinctly than any prison stretch would ever do.
Um, am I supposed to admire the fact that he belatedly realised he shouldn't rob innocent people? That's just bare minimum humanity and decency ffs
Cassidy? Good to look at and handy in a fight, but not a lot up top.
“All the best thieves can and do,” Bodie said. “I started young. Parents died whilst I was at a birthday party. Orphans adapt or die, and they do it very quickly. They learn to live with what they get, and forget what they once had. Except sometimes . . .” He closed his eyes. “Late at night.”
