Steadfast Love: The Response of God to the Cries of Our Heart

Hesed is a term not easily encapsulated in English. Various versions of the Bible and various appearances of the word in each version translate it into “faithfulness,” “goodness,” “kindness,” “loyalty,” “mercy,” and “steadfast love.” The simplest definition, however, is “loyal love.” It is the committed, unchanging, loving determination of the Lord who will never give up on those whom He has chosen for Himself.
