There is much to prattle on about regarding Guy, though nothing more germane than his repertoire of frowns. He has four. The sizzler, which is wordless and involves a pinching of the facial expressions into a wince so tight that they would withstand the stench of the foulest sewage; the zinger, which has a more open frame for the facial features, both exacerbating the glare of disapproving eyes and serving as a fantastic springboard to launch into a tirade; the vibrator, which involves a vigorous shake of the head and a scorn that would take the varnish off the gayest wedding party, and the blinder, which involves a rapid turn of the head away from the victim, followed by a slow and exceedingly disapproving shake of the head, which, if you are wondering, is far more effective when delivered with the face turned away rather than squarely front on.

She began with remarks on the theory of the firm, the contractual theory of mechanisms, the econometric evidence on automated inter-firm contract efficiency, and so forth. All riveting stuff to those in the know, for there seemed to be a lot of appreciative nodding at various junctures. Worried that I might nod off, I occupied the brain by counting the number of bricks on the north face of the wall.

You cannot look kindly on a friend who asks you about the make and design of the dagger stuck in your back, when you are telling him how profusely it makes you bleed.

The tables are uniformly dirty and defaced and there is but one chair in the entire joint that is not pretending to be a seesaw instead.
