Chocolate Energy This is my morning go-to—and how I start every day. 1 serving vanilla protein powder (preferably whey from grass-fed cows) ¾ cup unsweetened coconut milk ¼ cup brewed organic coffee or 1 teaspoon organic instant coffee powder (optional) 1 to 2 tablespoons raw cacao ¼ avocado 1 tablespoon almond butter 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1 tablespoon flax, hemp, or chia seeds ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon 6 to 8 ice cubes or approximately ½ cup room-temperature water
Golden Milk Smoothie 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk 1 teaspoon ground turmeric ¼ teaspoon ground ginger or ¼-inch piece peeled fresh ginger ½ orange, peeled, seeded, and chopped 1 tablespoon coconut oil 1 serving vanilla protein powder A few ice cubes
Third, avoid “social jet lag” if you can. That happens when you throw off your rhythms by staying up extra late on the weekends and then forcing yourself to revert to early rising for Monday morning. 1. Drain cleaner: Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 3 cups of boiling water. 2. Chemical smells from clothes: Mix 1 cup of baking soda into a tub of water and soak clothes for two to three hours or overnight. Agitate occasionally. Repeat if necessary, and wash as usual. (This method is great for removing the new smell from clothes.)
11. Cutting board deodorizer: Sprinkle the cutting board with baking soda, scrub, and rinse.
