But when we look carefully at a broad range of studies on the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy for stress, depression, anxiety, and cognitive impairment, drugs offer little, if any, benefit. (Pharmaceutical companies often design their own trials, and they publish and promote results selectively. Studies with negative or questionable results often go unpublished.)
