Say there’s someone who worries about himself and says, ‘I am a pessimist.’ One could rephrase that to instead say, ‘I have a pessimistic view of the world.’ You could consider that the issue is not personality, but rather the view of the world. It seems that the word ‘personality’ is nuanced, and suggests being unchangeable. But if we’re talking about a view of the world, well then, that should be possible to alter.
