It is damn scary to probe the depths of the thoughts, ideas, and subconscious principles governing our daily lives. To be fear-facing is to learn the distinction between fear and danger. It is to look directly at the source of the fear and assess if we are truly in peril or if we are simply afraid of the unknown. The unknown is like fog, and, of course, fog is frightening. Who knows what obstructions could be lurking about?

I really loved this distinction in how we feel and might reflect on fear: is it coping mechanism or are we in peril? Sometimes, it is a justified reaction of a clear danger. Other times it is the fogginess of our trauma and coping mechanisms pulling us away from experiences.
