Key #2: There are no right answers. For real. Remember to be friendly and conversational. Especially if you are having an intentional conversation, you may need to be mindful not to take on a condescending tone. The last thing we should do when we’re making a connection with our kids is talk down to them. Relationships simply don’t flourish that way. Even if their answers are not as deep or as impressive as you hoped they would be, there is no need to be overly concerned.
