A child with an insatiable appetite for stories will indeed learn to read (though it may not happen on your timetable . . . be patient!). In fact, he or she will be motivated to learn to read. And the best part? He or she will still love to do it. Prioritize your child’s love of literature, and you’ll find that down the road, you have children who can read for themselves, and—even better—who do read for themselves . . . even when no one is looking.
