It’s not his teacher’s job, it’s not his principal’s job, and it’s not your job. If he doesn’t have a handle on sixth grade math but needs to know certain things to be able to do prealgebra in seventh, the fact that he had a crummy sixth grade math teacher will be of little consolation.
