I recognize the run-down exterior of a former bookstore and shove aside my immediate impulse to run inside, to witness all the empty shelves, to take in all those lost words hanging forgotten in the vacant air.

I love this. I appreciate digital books, but there's such comfort and beauty in a real book, made of paper, with its delicious words just sitting their waiting for you to feast upon. It's such a tragedy to see what technology has done to the physical book world.
