For example, shooting an armed home invader who seeks to murder you is a just action. Preemptively shooting a person because you didn’t like the glance they gave you is not. Crude and simple examples, but they illustrate the point that even though your behavior was exactly the same (i.e., shooting someone) the moral status changed from just to unjust based on the context, motives and surrounding circumstances.
