You cannot take a journey by focusing on where you were. You have to take a journey by focusing on where you are headed.

Do you think of yourself as dead to sin and alive to God?

Our journey is meant to be one of allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and bring us into a mindset of truth. The problem is that we are spending time and energy battling “ourselves,” which renders us stagnant and unproductive, since that is not what God would have us do. In reality, the Holy Spirit is trying to speak to us and grow us up. But we are focused on ourselves instead of what God is saying.

God reveals as we need it.

If you are committed to undoing the work Jesus has done in me, I will let you and God sort that out. I’m going to keep my focus on who Jesus has made me to be. If you’re interested in encouraging that journey, I am all ears. If you want to tear me down, take it up with Him.”
