Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology

Scientology offers a clearly laid out scientific process that helps you to overcome your limitations and realize your full potential for greatness. It is presented as a well-defined path to achieving total spiritual freedom and enlightenment and a full understanding of yourself and others.

a Scientologist you are expected to spend a minimum of two and a half hours a day, every day, seven days a week, at church, studying and/or in counseling.

They do this because they’re indoctrinated with the belief that Scientology has the answers not only to their own ills but to the ills of all humankind.

A member should not read or watch anything generated by someone whom the church has declared a Suppressive Person, or SP, someone who in the church’s eyes and by LRH’s policy is found to be a threat to Scientology. Once the church has labeled you an SP, you are “Declared,” and as a result, you are cut off from all practicing Scientologists.

Ironically, for me and for most other people who have left the church and spoken out against it, the very qualities that we’ve been penalized for—defying, questioning, thinking independently—are the same qualities that made us prime candidates for Scientology in the first place.

Scientology is based on thousands of policies that leave no room for interpretation. Your actions are either “on policy” or “off policy.”

Knowledge Reports are a system of Scientologists reporting on one another, basically setting up the idea that not telling on your friends bars their freedom as well as makes you an accessory to the crime. It’s like systematic tattling.

Critical thought is not the sort of thing any good Scientologist should be engaged in.

You can’t give up the details of what’s involved on the OT levels because, you are told, those who are not on them aren’t ready to receive that kind of information. They might die if I told them. No kidding.

normal is boring.

We all have something to offer the world in some way, but by not being our authentic selves, we are robbing the world of something different, something special.

In Scientology you are told to stay away from the Internet or other forms of media or intelligence that might be against Scientology.
