He instructed his staff to bury every copy of her book in a pit in back of Tupperware’s headquarters. He had never given her stock in the company, nor did she have a severance agreement. After she sued him, he reluctantly gave her one year’s salary, about $30,000. A few months later, he sold the company for $16 million—the equivalent of $132 million today.
