You know how sometimes you get up and walk into the kitchen, and then once you get there you don’t know what you went in there for? Turns out there’s an actual reason for that. It’s some kind of evolutionary thing. It kept us safe, I guess, when we were running from dinosaurs. Once you’re in a new environment your mind goes blank. Like a clean slate. That helps us be ready for any challenges in the new place. Or, anyway, that’s what I read somewhere.”
