You rotten, uncouth son of a bitch? You murdering, eyeball-eating little varmint? Nobody breaks your spirit apart. Nobody.’
But if there was one true thing Zavera had said to me, it’s that lies start in the eyes. It turned out Ferius wasn’t that good a liar. ‘Well, I suppose I ain’t got nothing better to do,’ she said.
