Leaders must have the ability to understand the key characteristics and traits of culture, and recognize what leadership behavior is aligned and what behavior is not. And if they choose to use behaviors that are inconsistent with the expectations set by the culture, they are best advised to clearly articulate the reasoning behind their choices and actions. If they don’t, they run the risk of losing the trust of others.
