“I know you didn’t. But sometimes, the best gifts in life are those we didn’t know we needed.”
Our love had been like that. Swift and dynamic. I often wondered if I would have fallen so deeply and quickly had I not been terrified and broken.
This was a moment for raw emotion, where the need to take transcended the desire to give.
He knows deep down inside they will never be together again, but hearing her say the words knocks the wind out of him.
James watches from the shore, feeling overdressed and out of sync with his family. Out of place in his own life.
We take risks and do things
“Give it time. She’s your ohana, your family, and ‘family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten.’”
I urge you to come to terms with past mistakes, to forgive those who have wronged you, and find peace within yourself.
You might discover that despite the losses, you’ve gained so much more: two incredible and talented sons, a woman who has remained at your side for years and loves you beyond anything, and the freedom of expression through your art.
Lying to Aimee for too many years. Not trusting Thomas to handle the situation with Phil. And following Phil to Mexico. That’s his biggest mistake. One that cost him everything, and one that he can never turn back from.
While he does need to forgive those who have wronged him to move on, he needs to forgive himself above anything else.
