The formula meant that LOTO did not have to overthink his public appearances – a trend that had afflicted Ed Miliband’s 2015 campaign, culminating in the leader unveiling the notorious ‘Ed Stone’, an eight-foot-tall slab engraved with his pledges. One of those who helped run Miliband’s campaign observed, ‘The rallies gave them a platform every day. They didn’t have to think about the backdrop, the event, the crowd, or whose building it was, or one of the things we spent hours thinking about.’
