Forbid screens in kids’ bedrooms. One rule that is used by every tech executive in a recent survey is that their kids are not allowed to have any screens in their bedrooms. Aside from the obvious benefits—being able to more closely monitor what a child is doing online—this rule has the benefit of keeping the child in the common areas of the home. That is, even if the kid is going to be playing a video game or watching a movie, she will have to do it with other people around.
