From then on I began to see everything differently. If I were not here, this full moon would not be here. Neither would the trees. Or the wind. If my view of the world disappears, then everything that I see disappears too. It’s as simple as that.

This is almost like Schrodinger's Cat, quantum like. Things can both exist and not exist. We perceive them as no else perceives them. What we see we see from our perspective. We can never be sure what we see is the same as what any one else sees.
