We may feel like there ain’t a thing we can do right. But just think about it for a second. Start naming the goodness inside of you. It’s there, and there is way more of it than you could ever imagine. You just have to start saying it out loud. Slowly begin to replace that lie and watch breath enter your lungs like it hasn’t in a long time.
Look back at the last week. What are the good things that you pulled off? When did light win for you over darkness? •Think of at least three people in your life whom you love and care for. What are some ways in which you have been light to them over the years? •Pay attention in the next few weeks. Notice times when you may overreact to a situation or become more emotional than the situation warrants. Here is where you ask Jesus, What is this? Why am I reacting this way? Stay with me, Jesus. Show me why.
crazy. You see, that is the sort of moment that you can’t ignore. You can’t forget.
So much of the struggle we face comes from the enemy feeding us lies and us buying into them. The sooner you stop allowing him to have control, the sooner you can get on to living without cobwebs in your life. •When was the last time God blew your mind? •Have you ever felt darkness from the enemy? •Is there someone you respect who walks with God? Send them a message and ask to get together for coffee or lunch.
“Consider it a great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance” (James 1:2–3 CSB).
truths: Truth #1: God has not abandoned you. If anything, you are now at a place where you will hear Him louder than ever if you slow down, stop talking, and listen. Know that He is there.
Truth #2: As you excavate your days, hold on to God’s truths and discard Satan’s lies. It
One step at a time. Stand up. Take a deep breath. Gaze up. Glance down. It’s time to walk up to the spider. It’s time to stare at the spider. It’s time to kill the spider.
Jesus didn’t promise a pain-free life. But He did promise He would be with us as we run, skip, limp, crawl, or stumble toward the finish line.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
As you approach the spider, whatever your spider is, approach it with this in mind: God has a plan, and God’s plan to kill that bad boy is going to be much more precise than your plan. And, no, it isn’t likely to take seventy years to kill your spider. But it is going to take you focusing on His face and listening to His every prompting as you wind your way down the corridor of cobwebs to your ultimate battle. Listen to Him. Trust Him. Find power in Him. And slay that spider with Him.
Looking back at crisis moments … ask God, “Where were You in that moment?” Now, listen and trust.
Jesus, I come to You now to be made whole with You again. I come to You now, asking to be restored and renewed in You this day. I come to You to claim the grace and mercy You have waiting for me. I now surrender every aspect of who I am, who I have been, and who I will be totally to You, Lord. After centering myself with God and asking Him to make me who I need to be in Him again, I move on to the next part: Thank You, Jesus, for being here. I invite You to come in and show me that place where my heart was shattered. Come in and show me that place where I was wounded. Come in and show me that

“Then after the battle you will be standing firm.”
Jesus, cut off, bind, and send the spider and all webs created by this spider to the foot of the cross for You to deal with as You wish. I send it to You, Jesus. Do with it as You please. Come now, Jesus, come rushing into the chasm in my heart that this lie was trying to fill. Let the truth of You and the light of You come and fill the space that feeling of abandonment left vacant.
