Dreams are like a compass that points in a general direction, and goals are the islands in the ocean along the way.

Fear is like a thorn in your foot. It may be proportionally small in relation to the body, but it hurts and demands attention and everything halts until the thorn gets pulled.

His name was Diego, and the name of his shop, El Tercer Lugar, translated as the Third Place. “You know the saying? The three places. The first place is your home,” Diego told us. “The second place is your work. The third place is where you go by choice. Where you meet friends. Hang out. We want this to be that third place.”

I felt proud and strong. I felt like a man. I still couldn’t throw a football. But lots of dudes can throw a football, and none of them have lived on a bicycle for sixteen months.
