Once a given passage from the Bible came to be linked to a particular interpretation, text and interpretation often merged and became inseparable. Above we looked at a number of passages from the Old Testament that were interpreted as predictions of the messiah. The same texts then came to be read as messianic prophecies by different groups and in different contexts. The same holds true for Luke.
